The NUC 13 Pro is a mini PC that launched in early 2023 back when Intel was still managing the NUC brand. At the time the little computer was available with processor options that included 15-watt Intel Raptor Lake-U and 28-watt Raptor Lake-H chips.
But now that Asus has taken over the NUC line the company has quietly introduces new NUC 13 Pro models featuring 45-watt Intel Raptor Lake-H chips. The new models should be available in mid-March with prices starting at around $450.

The new models are similar to the existing versions in most respects. They're still compact desktop computers with two SODIMM slots for up to 64GB of total DDR4-3200 memory, and two M.2 slots for storage: one M.2 2280 with support for PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD and one M.2 2242 slot that supports a PCIe 3.0 x1 SSD.
Asus will offer two chassis options: a "tall" model that makes room for a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD and a "slim" version that only supports M.2 SSDs.
All models have a single 2.5 GbE LAN port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and four USB Type-A ports (three USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 2.0) plus a 3.5mm headphone jack.
And the new mini PCs still ship with processors based on Intel's 13th-gen Core architecture. But Intel's H-series chips can run at higher power levels, which allows them to notch higher scores in synthetic benchmarks and should lead to at least moderate improvements in real-world performance.
That said it's worth keeping in mind that Asus isn't offering the full range of Raptor Lake-H chips. At launch, here are the new models that will be available:
By comparison, older models were available with the following processor options:
