Earlier this year Acer introduced a new Acer Swift Go laptop with a 14 inch display, an Intel Core Ultra 200H processor and a starting weight of 1.3 kg (or about 2.9 pounds). Now the company has unveiled an even lighter-weight model.
The new Acer Go Air (2025) laptop weighs just 999 grams (about 2.2 pounds). But there are a few drawbacks. For one thing, it has a less powerful processor based on older architecture (even though it's still a 200H branded chip). For another, so far it looks like the new laptop may only be available in China.
According to ITHome, the new Acer Go Air features a 14 inch, 2240 x 1400 pixel IPS LCD display, 32GB of LPDDR5 memory, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
It will be available with either an Intel Core 5 210H or Core 7 240H processor. These are "new" chips that Intel launched late last year, but they're based on the same Intel Raptor Lake architecture that's been around for a few years rather than newer Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, or Arow Lake architecture.
The Core 5 210H has 4 Performance cores and 4 Efficiency cores and support for CPU frequencies up to 4.8 GHz, while the Core 7 240H processor has 6 P-cores and 4 E-Cores and tops out at 5.2 GHz.
Both are 45-watt chips with Intel integrated graphics that should be fine for HD video playback and maybe even some very light gaming, but they won't deliver the same level of GPU performance you'd get from a system with Intel Iris Xe or Intel Arc graphics.
Some of the laptop's other features include a 60 Wh battery and 100W GaN power adapter, support for WiFi 6, three USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Acer Go Air is expected to sell for 5299 CNY ($730) and up in China. There's no word on if or when we could see an international version of the notebook.
