The AOOSTAR WTR MAX is a network attached storage (NAS) device that packs a lot of features into a relatively small computer. It has an AMD Ryzen PRO 8845HS processor. It supports up to 11 storage devices (6 hard drives and 5 SSDs). It has two 10 Gigabit LAN ports and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports. And there's even an OCuLink connector for external graphics cards or other add-ons.
AOOSTAR has been teasing the WTR Max for a while and started showing it off at industry events recently. Now the company has revealed more details as well as pricing and availability information: the AOOSTAR WTR Max will be available for $699 when it goes on sale in late March, 2025.

The Ryzen PRO 8845HS is a n 8-core, 16-thead processor with support for CPU speeds up to 5.1 GHz, Radeon 780M graphics with 12 RDNA 3 GPU compute units, and a Ryzen AI NPU with up to 16 TOPS of AI performance. In other words, this 35-54 watt chip a lot more powerful than the processors you typically find in NAS systems in this price range.
There's also support for ECC memory and room for up to 11 storage devices:
On the front of the WTR Max you'll find a small LCD display on the front of the system that can display system stats like drive temperature, fan speed, and network throughput.

The WTR MAX 250 x 242 x 190mm (9.84″ x 9.52″ x 7.48″) and features plenty of ports on the front and back of the system including:

The OCuLink port enables an external PCIe connection with data transfer speeds up to 64 Gbps.
One thing that sets AOOSTAR's NAS systems apart from models you'd buy from more established brands like Synology, QNAP, or Asustor is that AOOSTAR does not develop its own operating system for network attached storage hardware. Instead the company ships its products with Windows pre-installed. But you should be able to replace that with the purpose-built operating system of your choice such as TrueNAS, Unraid, or OpenMediaVault.
