- Google has removed the handy Weather Map from the Pixel Weather app.
- The change has been noticed across all Pixel devices.
- It’s unclear if this removal is intentional or a mistake, as other weather features remain unchanged.
Google has silently removed the weather map functionality from the Pixel Weather application. Reddit and Google Community forum users report the feature's disappearance, attributed to a server-side modification without a Play Store update. Our internal testing confirms the weather map's unavailability on Pixel devices.
This unexpected removal has caused user confusion. The weather map, a recent addition (August 2024) in the US, UK, Europe, and Japan, provided a six-hour precipitation forecast and cloud movement tracking, offering valuable real-time weather visualization.
The weather map's removal is complete; it is absent from all city views and locations.
All other app features, including the AI Weather Report, Hourly Forecast, 10-day Forecast, and Wind and Precipitation data, remain functional.
The reason for this removal—intentional or accidental—is currently unknown. We anticipate further clarification from Google shortly.
