Onyx BOOX Tab X C is a 13.3 inch E Ink tablet with a color screen and pen support

Two years ago Onyx BOOX launched launched the Onyx BOOX Tab X as an E Ink tablet with an Android-based operating system, pen support, and a grayscale screen with 207 pixels per inch.

Now the company has introduced a new model with a higher-resolution display, a faster processor, a newer version of Android, and a different pen. The new Onyx BOOC Tab X C also has an E Ink Kaleido 3 display, which means that it supports color.

Expected to sell for $760 when it goes on sale in the near future, the new model is also a little cheaper than its predecessor (although both are still more expensive than some competing devices like the reMarkable Paper Pro). There are a few tradeoffs to keep in mind though.

For one thing, the BOOX Tab X C is thinner, but heavier than the original BOOX Tab X, and it has a smaller battery. And instead of a battery-free EMR stylus, the new color model uses a BOOX InkSense Stylus that needs to be charged (although it charges automatically when docked magnetically to the side of the tablet).
