Acer Predator Triton 14 AI is a 3.5 pound gaming laptop with an OLED display and stylus support

The Acer Predator Triton 14 is a thin and light gaming laptop that's been giving the popular Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 a run for its money for several years. But the new PT14-52T model for 2025 introduces a bunch of new features that could help Acer's compact gaming notebook appealing even for non-gamers.

Acer's newest model features a 14.5 inch, 2880 x 1800 pixel OLED touchscreen display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V Lunar Lake processor and NVIDI GeForce RTX 5070 discrete mobile graphics. It also supports stylus input – but interestingly you can't use the pen on the display, only on the touchpad.

I guess the idea is that you can use the notebook for gaming, but also for other applications like creating and editing digital graphics. The notebook has a large haptic touchpad covered with Corning Gorilla Glass and comes with a stylus that supports 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt support, and 10 – 450 g pen tip force.

While the pen is compatible with the Predator Triton 14 AI laptop, it's also compatible with AES 2.0, USI 2.0, and MPP 2.5 protocols, which means you should be able to use it with a range of other devices.

Some of the Predator Triton 14 AI's other features include support for up to 32GB of LPDDR5-x8533 memory and up to a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, an Intel Killer 1750i WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless card, and a 76 Wh battery.

Ports include:

  • Thunderbolt 4
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
  • 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio jack
  • 1 x microSD card reader
  • The notebook has a 1080p IR camera, six speakers, a backlit keyboard with per-key RGB lighting, and a cooling system that includes two metal fans, graphene thermal interface material, and a vapor chamber.

    The laptop measures 322 x 221 x 17mm (12.7″ x 8.7″ x 0.7″) at its thickest point, and weighs 1.6 kg (about 3.5 pounds).

While Acer seems to have packed a lot of powerful features into a pretty small computer, one thing that's not small is the price. Acer says the Predator Triton 14 AI (PT14-52T) will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in July with prices starting at 2,999 Euros ($3,356).

North American pricing and availability haven't been announced yet.
