Asus ROG Bulwark Dock is a universal dock for the ROG Ally and other handhelds, phones, and PCs

The ROG Bulwark Dock is a new 7-in-1 USB-C docking station from the gaming arm of Asus. While it's clearly designed for use with the company's ROG Ally handheld gaming PCs, there are a few things that make this dock interesting.

One is that this thing's meant for gamers so of course it has RGB lighting effects. The other is that it's positioned as a universal dock and not just something made for the ROG Ally and Ally X handhelds.

The dock has a cover that flips up at angles between 0 and 90 degrees to let you stand a handheld gaming PC, smartphone, or tablet in place. But since the Bulwark Dock uses a USB-C connector it should be compatible with notebook and desktop PCs as well.

Once connected, the dock brings these additional ports to your device:

  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
  • 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
  • 1 x Gigabit Ethernet
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio
  • While the dock tops out at 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 connections, that should be good enough to support a 4K display running at up to 144 Hz, Gigabit Ethernet, and several high-speed USB connections.

The Bulwark Dock supports 130W input and can pass through as much as 100W to a connected device, which should be good enough to keep most laptops, tablets, phones, or gaming handhelds powered.

The dock has an aluminum top and plastic bottom, and RGB lighting effects that can be controlled with Asus ROG Aura Sync software.
