Thunderbolt 5 supports bi-directional data transfer speeds up to 80 Gbps, or asymmetric speeds up to 120 Gbps for video output. And that makes it an even better fit for docking stations than Thunderbolt 4, which topped out at 40 Gbps. Now that PCs with Thunderbolt 5 are starting to gain traction, we're starting to see more Thunderbolt 5 accessories. The latest are two new docking stations from gaming hardware maker Razer.
The Razer Core X V2 is an upcoming graphics dock that supports desktop graphics cards. But while it has room for PCIe x16 cards that are up to 4 slots wide, keep in mind that Thunderbolt 5 tops out at PCIe 4.0 x4 speeds, so performance still might not be as good as it would if you used an internal graphics card. The Razer new Razer Thunderbolt 5 Dock, on the other hand, shouldn't have any such bottlenecks – it's a multifunction dock with Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, USB, and audio ports as well as room for an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD. It's available now for $390.

Here's a roundup of recent tech news from around the web.
Razer's new $390 Thunderbolt 5 Dock supports three 4K displays, one PCIe gen 4 SSD, four Thunderbolt ports, and 140W laptop power delivery. A new Razer Core X V2 Thunderbolt 5 graphics dock is also coming soon. press.razer.com/product-news…
