The TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus is a mid-range Android tablet with one stand-out feature, TCL's NXTPAPER 4.0 display technology that offers an anti-glare, paper-like viewing experience.
First introduced during CES in January, the NXTPAPER 11 Plus is now available from Walmart for $249.
The tablet features an 11.5 inch, 2200 x 1400 pixel IPS LCD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and support for up to 550 nits brightness. TCL uses nano-matrix lithography to etch the top layer of glass, which the company says provides a more paper-like viewing experience as well as circularly polarized light and blue light reduction.
NXTPAPER screens don't offer all the benefits of a true E Ink display like low power consumption, the ability to retain an image on the display indefinitely without power, or visibility using only ambient light. But TCL positions its NXTPAPER technology as something that can reduce eye strain and offer a more comfortable viewing experience.
The TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus also has a NXTPAPER key that you can press to switch between "color paper" and "ink" modes – the latter is basically a software-imposed greyscale viewing mode that makes the screen look a little more like ePaper. The key can also be customized for use as a shortcut button.
Other features include a MediaTek Helio G100 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, quad-speakers, a USB Type-C port, and an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 33W charging.
The NXTPAPER 11 Plus supports WiF 5 and Bluetooth 5.3 and has an 8MP rear camera with an LED flash and auto-focus as well as an 8MP fixed-focus front camera. The tablet ships with Android 15.
The tablet measures 260.5 x 177.8 x 6.6mm (10.3″ x 7″ x 0.3″) and weighs 490 grams (17.3 ounces).
