Elecrow has launched a Mini PC case that can house either a Raspberry Pi 5 or NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano while extending the functionality of those little PCs. It also makes them look a little bit like tiny gaming PCs thanks to the clear acrylic side panels and RGB lighting effects.
Available now from Elecrow, you can pick up a Jetson Orin Nano model for $32 or pay $40 for a model designed for the Raspberry Pi 5. And that makes this little chassis seem like a bargain compared with the very-similar Sunfounder Pironman 5 lineup, which sells for between $46 and $95.
The Elecrow Mini PC case measures 120 x 120 x 72 (4.7″ x 4.7″ x 2.8″) and features an aluminum alloy body with clear acrylic on the front and left side.
That lets you see the computer inside the chassis, as well as the RGB lighting for the system's three fans: two on the back and one on top. There's also a 1.3 inch OLED display on top of the case that can display status information, along with a power button.
Elecrow includes extender boards that allow you to access all of the key ports and connectors. There's a 40-pin GPIO interface on the bottom of the wide clear acrylic side panel, and USB, Ethernet, and video ports on the back (the layout varies depending on whether you're using a model made for the Raspberry Pi 5 or for the Jetson Orin Nano.
If you're wondering why the Raspberry Pi model costs a little more, it may be because this version has two features the Orin Nano model lacks: an M.2 2280 slot for an optional PCIe 2.0/3.0 x1 SSD or other add-ons and support for an RTC battery.
