The MINIX ER936-AI and ER937-AI are a set of compact desktop computers with AMD Strix Point processors that combine Zen 5 CPU cores with RDNA 3.5 graphics and a 50 TOPS NPU.
First unveiled during Computex in June, the mini PCs are now available for pre-order and they're expected to begin shipping in early September. Prices start at $769 for an ER936-AI with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 365 processor or $869 for an ER937-AI with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor.
Two things to know about those prices:
For the most part the two computers are pretty similar. Both have matte black bodies that measure 140.3 x 139.6 x 56mm and both feature two SODIMM slots with support for up to 96GB of DDR5 memory and an M.2 2280 slot for up to 8TGBB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage.
Ports include:
Both also feature dual fans, a vapor chamber, and a "quick-release" base that should make memory and storage upgrades easy.
But there are two key differences between the two models: the processor and wireless capabilities. The ER936-AI has a 10-core, 20-thread processor with 12-core RDNA 3.5 graphics and a wireless card with support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. And the ER937-AI has a 12-core, 24-thread processor with 16-core graphics and support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
