Lilbits: Microsoft open sources 6502 BASIC, Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 Series, Acer shows off an Intel Panther Lake laptop

Acer is showing off a new laptop at IFA in Germany this week that's of the first laptops designed for Intel's not-yet-available Panther Lake processors. Microsoft has open sourced one of the very first products the company ever released: a BASIC interpreter for the MOS 6502 processor, a port of the software first developed for Intel 8080 processor. And Samsung has launched two new tablets and one new smartphone.

The new Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is now available for $650 and up, offering a slightly lower cost alternative to other members of the S25 family. And the Galaxy Tab S11 is a new high-end tablet with an 11 inch screen and $800 starting price, while the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is an even higher-end model with a bigger screen, faster WiFi, optional support for more RAM, and an extra camera on the back.
