The ONEXPLAYER X1 Air is a portable computer that's positioned as a handheld gaming PC. But with an 11 inch, 2560 x 1600 pixel, 120 Hz thanks to a set of detachable controllers that fit onto the sides.
First announced in China earlier this summer, the ONEXPLAYER X1 Air is now available for pre-order globally with prices starting at $1099. It's expected to begin shipping September 25, 2025.
Keep in mind that One Netbook is offering a $200 discount during pre-orders, so retail prices might be a bit higher.
The starting price is for a model with an Intel Core Ultra 5 228V Lunar Lake processor with Intel Arc 130V integrated graphics, 32GB of LPDDDR5-8533 memory, and a 512GB PCIE 4.0 NVMe SSD. Customers can also pay more for models with up to a Core Ultra 7 258V processor with Arc 140V graphics and up top 2TB of storage.
In addition to detachable controllers, the ONEXPLAYER X1 Air comes with a magnetic keyboard that included in the base price. Optional accessories include a ONEXGPU 2 external graphics dock and a magnetic keyboard. There's also support for an optional stylus with support for 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, but I don't believe that's included in the base price.
Since the ONEXPLAYER X1 Air features Intel Lunar Lake processors, the memory is integrated with the chip and cannot be upgraded. But the system offers a few ways to add more storage. The internal SSD is an M.2 2230 PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD that should, at least in theory, be user replaceable. But the system also has a mini SSD slot for removable storage devices that are just a little larger than an SD card, but significantly faster than most SD cards.
There's also a microSD card reader though, which is helpful because microSD cards are a lot easier to find than mini SSDs at the moment.
The ONEXPLAYER X1 Air is powered by a 72.77 Wh battery and features a cooling system that includes dual heat pipes and dual 8500 RPM fans. It has a 1MP front-facing camera, stereo speakers and support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2.
For security there's a fingerprint sensor and an IR camera with support for face recognition.
There are pogo pins on the bottom of the tablet for the detachable keyboard, slides on the side for the detachable controllers, and a built-in kickstand, which could help prevent wrist or arm strain from holding the computer – it weighs 892 grams (just under 2 pounds) with the controllers attached.
Ports include:
One thing that this new model doesn't have? While the original ONEXPLAYER X1 (with Intel Meteor Lake) updated model (with AMD Hawk Point), and newer ONEXPLAYER X1 Pro (with Intel Arrow Lake) all have OCuLink ports with support for 64 Gbps external PCIe 4.0 x4 connections to graphics docks and other accessories, the new "Air" model does not.
