The GAMEMT E5 ModX is a weird little handheld game console that features a 1024 x 768 pixel display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, a MediaTek Helio P60 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of storage.
But what makes this console stand out is that you can remove the controller and use it with a smartphone.
The controller features a D-Pad, dual a nalog sticks, action buttons, and shoulder triggers, along with some special function keys, while the brains of the console are baked into the display module that slots into the controller for game play.
When you separate the screen from the controller you can add an optional back plate with a magnetic connector that will hold a smartphone in place in landscape orientation. The gamepad works as a Bluetooth controller, so it should be compatible with most smartphones.
Pricing and availability haven’t been announced yet, but Royibeila reports that GAMEMT is showing 3D printed prototypes. And given the relatively low-end specs, I can’t imagine this thing will cost too much… although in 2026, even 3GB of RAM might be expensive.
