The ACEMAGIC F5A AI 470 is a small desktop computer with support for up to three SSDs and a robust set of ports that includes two USB4 ports and an OCuLink port that provides an external PCIe 4.0 x4 connection for graphics docks or other add-ons.

It’s also a rather modest update to last year’s ACEMAGIC F5A AI 370 in most respects: the new model has a slightly newer, slightly more powerful processor… and a slightly higher price tag: It’s available now for $759, while the previous model currently sells for $729.

There are two key differences between the 2025 and 2026 versions of the ACEMAGIC F5A: its processor and memory.

As for the processor, the new model has an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 “Gorgon Point” chip, while the older version had a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 “Strix Point” processor. Those two chips are very similar, but there are a few small differences:

  • The Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 has a maximum CPU boost speed of 5.1 GHz, compared with 5 GHz for the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370
  • It also has a has a maximum GPU speed of 3.1 GHz, compared with 2.9 GHz for the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370
  • And the NPU delivers up to 55 TOPS of AI performance, while the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 offers up to 50 TOPS
  • While that might not seem like much, synthetic benchmarks suggest the new chip does offer about 9% better multi-core CPU performance, and a 7.5% boost in single-core performance. And AMD says the new chip delivers up to 86 TOPS of total on-device AI processing power when you combine the NPU, GPU, and CPU, up from 80 TOPS for the older chip.

When it comes to memory though, ACEMAGIC is making a more unusual shift with its new model. Like its predecessor, there’s a barebones configuration of the new model that has two SODIMM slots for user upgradeable DDR5-5600 memory. But this time the company is also offering pre-configured models with 32GB of LPDDR5x-8000 onboard memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD pre-installed.

LPDDR5x-8000 memory is faster, has more bandwidth, and takes up less space. But since the memory is soldered to the mainboard, it’s not easily user-replaceable.

If you do opt for a fully-configured model with LPDDR5x memory, you’ll end up paying a lot more (the list price appears to be $1299), but you’ll also get three M.2 slots instead of two… although that’s another move that feels a little more different than a clear upgrade. Becau se instead of two PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, you get one PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and two PCIe 4.0 x2 slots.

Features that are common across all models include support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 and a set of ports that includes:

  • 1 x OCuLink (64 Gbps)
  • 2 x USB4 Type-C (40 Gbps w/DisplayPort Alt Mode, 15W power output, 100W power input)
  • 3 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
  • 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A (480 Mbps)
  • 1 x HDMI 2.1
  • 1 x DisplayPort 2.1
  • 2 x 2.5 GbE LAN
  • 1 x 3.5mm audio
  • 1 x DC power input
  • The ACEMAGIC F5A AI 470 measures 130 x 132 x 62mm and has dual fans and an aluminum cooling plate to cover an SSD.
