Before the Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch, there was Pebble. The pioneering smartwatch brand disappeared for a while after it was acquired by Fitbit… which was later acquired by Google. But last year Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky launched a new company called Core Devices and revived the brand.
For the most part, new Pebble-branded watches are a lot like the ones that shipped a decade ago, with few new features. But the Pebble Time 2 is an exception – it’s the first Pebble watch with a touchscreen display. Up until recently, that wasn’t much use though… because the PebbleOS software that runs on the watch didn’t yet support touch. But a few days ago Core Devices launched a new version of PebbleOS with an API for touchscreen apps, and the first of those apps are starting to arrive.

Some of the first touch-enabled apps and games include a timer, a calculator, a Breakout clone, a mini golf game, and a castle defense game.
In other recent tech news, a new report suggests the RAM shortage may prompt Google to offer entry-level versions of its Pixel 11 phones with less memory than their Pixel 10 counterparts. Rumor has it that the new phones will also ship without a temperature sensor or IR camera for face recognition, but Pro models could have a little RGB LED ligh t bar in the camera bump.

Leaked Google Pixel 11 series specs suggest that entry-level models will have less RAM than their Pixel 10 counterparts, as well as smaller batteries. But expect screen & camera upgrades. Take this with a grain of salt until Google confirms though. t.me/mysticleaks/…
