This new Apple Macmini dock adds over half a dozen ports and NVME SSD expansion for $79

Apple has recently launched the new Mac mini (currently priced at $549 on Amazon with Amazon provided discount coupon). Despite its recent release, third-party developers are already creating customized add-ons for the latest mini-PC. Notably, the team behind the Studio Drive is in the process of developing replaceable SSDs similar to those available for the Mac Studio.

Additionally, RayCue has introduced what appears to be the first dedicated docking station designed specifically for the redesigned Mac mini. As illustrated in the images below, the RayCue Mac mini Hub enhances the mini-PC's functionality by providing additional ports. The dock includes the following integrated ports:  

- 1x 3.5 mm audio jack  

- 1x HDMI (4K/60 Hz)  

- 1x MicroSD card reader (UHS-I)  

- 2x SD card readers (UHS-I)  

- 1x USB 3.0 Type-A (5 Gbps)  

- 1x USB 3.2 Type-A (10 Gbps)  

- 1x USB 3.2 Type-C (10 Gbps)  

- 1x USB Type-C (charging)  

- 1x USB Type-C (host)  

Moreover, the compact design conceals an M.2 2280 slot that accommodates both SATA III and NVMe SSDs. However, peak transfer speeds are limited to 10 Gbps for NVMe SSDs and 6 Gbps when utilizing a SATA III SSD. Currently, RayCue has priced the dock at $79, reflecting a 20% discount from its $99 MSRP. At this time, RayCue is expected to commence shipping pre-orders for the Mac mini hub starting December 15.
