As promised, Microsoft is bringing back the ability to reposition the Windows taskbar… although you can’t actually do it just yet unless your a member of the Windows 11 Insider Preview program running an experimental build of Windows 11. More options for customizing the Start Menu are also rolling out to Insiders.

In other recent te ch news from around the web, a crowdfunding project is underway for a WiFi router with a RISC-V processor and fork of the open source OpenWrt operating system, M5Stack has launched a new dev kit with a 4 inch E Ink Spectra 6 color display, GEEKOM has given one of its mini PCs a modest spec bump for 2026, and Pine64 is warning folks about an error in a batch of its PinePower power supplies.
The Start9 router features a SpacemiT K1 RISC-V processor, 4GB RAM, 16GB storage, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 6 and a fork of OpenWrt. With a $300 price and crowdfunding, it ain’t cheap… or guaranteed to ship though. news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4814…

The PinePower V2 is a 165W desktop power supply with a lot of features… but the current batch of units has an unfixable error that displays 0V output when charging under some circumstances. It’ll be fixed in the next batch. social.treehouse.systems/@pine64/1165…
